Alaska State Chamber of Commerce

Committees are the branches of the Alaska State Chamber. By uniting business professionals from a diverse group of individuals, industries and companies to form these committees, the Alaska State Chamber’s impact is maximized. Each committee meets regularly to advise the President and the Board on the implementation of Alaska State Chamber objectives and strategies.

Events Committee
Assists in the planning and implementation of Alaska State Chamber events including the Legislative Tie-In, the Legislative Fly-In, the Legislative Wrap-Up, and the Annual Fall Conference and Business Trade Show.

Executive Committee
Makes recommendations to the State Chamber board and staff in the areas of operations, policy, strategic planning, membership, communication, events, financial oversight, annual partnerships and event sponsorships. Acts on behalf of the board as outlined in the bylaws. Responsible for the annual evaluation of the President.

Finance Committee
Provides oversight on all financial matters and advises the board on the overall direction and control of the finances of the organization.

Legislative Affairs Committee
Informs public policy makers about the issues which impact business in Alaska and are important to members. Conducts the Legislative Tie-In meeting and develops Alaska State Chamber legislative priorities and positions for board approval. Provides counsel about legislative affairs to the President and Board Chair.

Membership Committee
Assists in the development of a membership strategy that continually increases new members and retains existing members. Looks for opportunities to provide added value for our members.

Local Chamber Outreach Committee
To improve communication between and among local chambers and the State Chamber. To assist local chambers in dealing with legislative issues.
