State Chamber Annual Raffle Winners |

The Alaska State Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Raffle on September 22, 2009 during the Fall Conference and Trade Show in Homer. We greatly appreciate the support of everyone who helped sell tickets and/or purchased raffle tickets. Raffle proceeds will allow the Chamber to continue its mission “To promote a positive business environment in Alaska”.

Northern Passage by Frank Flavin |
Chamber member, professional photographer Frank Flavin, recently took a trip on the Totem Ocean Trailer Express (TOTE) vessel M/V Northstar. He was on board during a trip in mid-February from Anchorage to Tacoma during a stretch of unusually nice winter weather.
The idea had been in his mind for some time to show what it takes to deliver the some 70% of all goods brought to Alaska, especially in the winter months. He shared his idea with Chamber Board member Renata Benett of TOTE at a Alaska State Chamber event and she got the ball rolling.
